Financial Education for Physicians

(Personal finances, investing, self-employed finances, and more to help doctors find financial independence)

Given the unique financial trajectory of physicians and rising physician burnout, it is particularly important to ensure that the late start we get in earning, saving, and investing doesn't preclude us from establishing financial security. We would contend that finances aren't med school hard, and a basic understanding of personal finance will prevent doctors from falling prey to bad financial advice as well as ensuring that their money works for them. Unfortunately, most of us didn't get any financial education on our pathway to becoming physicians. Below, you can find resources for all aspects of personal finances including where to start, insurances to have, taxes, where and how to invest, how to save for retirement and establish financial independence, estate planning, asset protection, and more. For the self-employed and entrepreneurial physicians, we also cover self-employed finances.

Disclosure: Please note that although these are sponsored listings, we have made an effort to vet prior reviews of the firms listed here to the best of our ability and provide you with a place to start with your research.  As always, we do recommend doing your own due diligence to assess whether the firms listed are a good fit for you, and you should view this list as a warm introduction, rather than a formal recommendation for your particular situation.
